We leave PUBG

June 30, 2021

Our roots in the gaming industry are deeply connected to PUBG. Before rebranding to Acend, we started the journey in PUBG under a different name, and we stayed true to the sport for the better part of 3 years.

But all things come to an end.

We had just recently signed the very promising roster formerly known as Tornado Energy. We were determined to take these talented players in, and foster them to their peak performance. They had proven their skills before, and we were sure it was the support of an organization they needed to make it all the way to the top.

After just a brief time together, they expressed their wish to accept an offer extended by CIS titan Natus Vincere. Being of Russian origin themselves, they felt their connection to their followers, fanbase, and region made NaVi the perfect team.

We did not want to stand in their way, and so we released them from their ongoing contracts and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

On top of this, there have been some concerns on our part regarding upcoming changes to the competitive ruleset. We don’t want to go on a rant here, so we will leave you with this:

We love PUBG as an esport, and we truly hope that feedback will be respected and considered in the future.

While we leave the sport permanently for now, we can see us going back to it in the future, should the competitive ruleset and organisation allow for a better experience.
